Real Wine Month

For the month of 2013 March we will be promoting Real Wines with around 10 to try by the Glass or Bottle!

Real, or Natural Wines, are made mostly in the vineyard and partly in the winery.  Farming is Organic, Biodynamic and enviromentally sustainable, ensuring strong healthy vines with grapes that express the terroir!  In the winery it is a case of less is more, the wines are made without additions; no acid, alcohol, tannin, flavouring, enzymes, colouring, filtering or fining and as little sulpher as possible.  Only natural yeasts form the grapes themselves are used to produce wines that taste of the vintage and terroir;  they are individual charectors in a world of branded standardisation.

Mothers’ Day

With the first hints of spring in the air we know that Mothers’ Day must be just around the corner, and this year it falls nice and early on Sunday 10th March.

We will be open from 10am with our Champagne Breakfast.  Then from Midday until the later time of 8.30pm we will be serving our famous, award winning Sunday Roasts.

St Valentine’s at Lamberts

Ah yes, it’s that romantic time of year again where the chefs try to find their amorous side…and this year there is a lot of love in the kitchen at Lamberts.

On Valentine’s Day itself we will be offering our special Lunch menu from 12.30pm till 2.30pm. Then from 6pm until 10.20pm our special Dinner menu will be available.

For those of you who want to avoid the crowds on Valentine’s Day, or you really want to treat your better half, we have our fantastic Valentine’s Tasting Menu. Ryan Lowery, our Head Chef, has created a six course tasting menu to titillate your taste buds and with an optional wine tasting menu to complement each course we know it will definitely win you brownie points!

We will be serving our tasting menu from Tuesday to Saturday – excluding Valentine’s Day itself.

So go on, treat the love of your life to a special meal. You know they are worth it!!

Burns Night – 25th January

For our many Scottish regulars and for those like myself who love any excuse to sample Scotland’s national dish, we will be shipping down some Macsween’s Haggis to help celebrate the birth of Scotland’s favourite poet, Robert Burns. We will have Haggis available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday so book your table now!

Oyster Week – Tuesday 5th February to Sunday 10th February

Back by public demand!! A week dedicated to these heavenly bivalves. We will have Colchester Rocks and Natives from the Colchester Oyster Fishery and Maldon Rocks from the Blackwater Estuary.
